My name is Julia Weeks.

I am not a cookbook writer, food critic, nor chef. But, I am a lover of food, cooking, and books.

I don’t think that cookbooks get the love they deserve. They’re given as last-minute gifts, flipped through a few times, then left on shelves to collect dust. When they are used as more than kitchen props, it's typically for that one go-to recipe and nothing else. My goal is to honor the time and consideration put into creating a cohesive set of recipes, organizing them in an understandable fashion, and making them gorgeous. Through this blog I will be cooking through entire cookbooks one recipe at a time.

Each week I post about a recipe, or set of recipes, I cooked from the book I am currently working through. I give you some context into the recipe, my thoughts before cooking, and the results with a bit of other musings scattered between.

Current endeavor:

The Salem County Cookbook
